GROVE CITY — Susan Sweeney, 59, of Grove City, passed away Nov. 6, 2009 in the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 20, 1950, the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Katherine Cleary Ackison.
Ms. Sweeney was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and Ohio University, where she received her degree in education. She was a former secretary for Ashland Chemical in Dublin, Ohio and was a member of Mavity Freewill Baptist Church in Cannonsburg, Ky.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John R. Ackison.
She is survived by two sons, John William Sweeney and Joshua David Sweeney both of Russell, Ky.; her ex-husband, James Sweeney of Russell, Ky.; a brother and sister-in-law, David and Kathy Ackison of Grove City; and a multitude of nieces and nephews and one very special friend, Mary Elizabeth Cummings.
