Ruth E. Jewell, 75, of Ironton, died Sunday, May 16, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ironton native was born June 6, 1934, the daughter of the late Emmett and Oma Alfrey.
She attended Coal Grove schools and was an active member of the First Baptist Missionary Church of Sheridan.
She is survived by her husband, Larry E. Jewell; one daughter, Teresa Easterling of Ironton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Valerie Jewell of Ironton and Dale and Jami Jewell of Coal Grove; three brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Fondelene Alfrey, Phillip and Carol Alfrey and Roger and Mary Ann Alfrey all of Ironton; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Warner officiating. Burial will in Highland Memorial Gardens.
