HANGING ROCK — Organizers hope four-wheel enthusiasts go “all-in” with the Hanging Rock ATV Club during its Poker Run.

The club will have its fourth annual Rock ‘N’ Roll Rally June 5 with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.

Jerry Gammon, president of Hanging Rock ATV Club, gets special permission from Mayor Rich Blankenship every year to allow riding ATVs, UTVs and dirt bikes on the streets of Ironton.

“I go to them every year and we meet and discuss the event,” said Gammon. “I fill out the permit and he signs it.”

Registration for the event is $10 and begins at 9 a.m. the day of the run. The Poker Run starts at 11 a.m. in downtown Hanging Rock and goes throughout Ironton with designated stops along the way. Each rider must visit a predetermined number of stops to be eligible for the poker drawing. The ride will finish up around 4 p.m. back in Hanging Rock.

At the end of the Poker Run, riders who visited all of the stops can draw a five-card poker hand. First prize for the best hand is $125. Second prize is $50 and third prize is $25.

Also, from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. is the Hoot Owl night ride. This is an off-road ride on trails through Wayne National Forest.

Club Vice President Mark Robinson said they are hoping to grow the event each year.

“The City of Ironton and the Village of Hanging Rock have been great,” said Robinson. “We are looking forward to getting more involved with them.”

The ATV club is also hosting a flea market between Second and Third streets in the parking lot across from Auto Zone on Memorial Day. The fee for setting up a booth is $15.
