PEDRO — John Mart, 71, of Pedro, died Sunday, May 23, 2010, at a local health care center.
The Lawrence County native was born April 24, 1939, the son of the late Charles and Lillian Hieronimus Mart.
Mr. Mart is a graduate of Pedro High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former employee of Ashland Oil for three years.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, John Robert Mart.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Angie and David Asebrook of Cape Coral, Fla.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Frances and Emerson Wiseman of Ironton, Avanelle and Mart Jenkins of Kitts Hill and Connie and Ray Brickey of Columbus; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Irene Mart of Waterloo; and three grandchildren, Kyle Schmittauer of Phoenix, Ariz., Annie Banian and Aaron Banian , both of Cape Coral, Fla.; and a long time companion, Jean Webb of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating. Burial will follow in Slabfork Cemetery.
