AID TOWNSHIP — “Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”

That is the class motto for Symmes Valley High School Class of 2010. Symmes Valley graduated 77 seniors at 3 p.m. on May 30 in the school’s gymnasium.

Graduating senior Drew Brock said, “I had a great time, but I’m excited to start a new adventure.”

Brock will be attending Marshall University and plans to major in physical therapy.

LaTosha Hatfield painted the top of her graduation cap in celebration.

“I’m excited,” she said. “I just don’t want to fall.”

Joyce Akers-Shuck, grandmother of graduate Jacob Callicoat, stressed the importance of supporting the graduates and their achievements.

“These days when kids graduate, you better be proud.”

Principal Darrell Humphreys said that the Class of 2010 was a good class.

“A number of our students are going into service oriented jobs.”

Humphreys also said that about $900,000 in scholarships was awarded.

“We’re very proud of them,” said Humphreys.
