Three people avoided having their cases heard by a grand jury Wednesday, admitted guilt and proceeded to punishment during hearings in Lawrence County Common Pleas Court.

Christopher Ball, 30, of Township Road 155E, Pedro, pleaded guilty on a bill of information to two counts of tampering with a coin machine.

Judge D. Scott Bowling sentenced Ball to four years community control sanctions under intensive supervised probation (CCS/ISP) and ordered him to pay $784 in restitution.

Donald L. Sisler, Jr., 20, of 2163 County Road 22, Ironton, pleaded guilty on a bill of information to one count of burglary.

He told the court he was sorry for what he had done.

“The person (I victimized) is not here right now,” Sisler said. “I’d like to apologize…”

Judge Charles Cooper sentenced him to four years in prison.

Christopher S. Fields, 29, of Wheelersburg, pleaded guilty on a bill of information to one count of robbery.

“This is the result of an addiction to oxycontin,” Fields’ attorney, Warren Morford said. “At the time of the offense my client was under the influence of oxycontin and that’s why he took the money. Hopefully when he goes to prison this time he can get clean and stay clean.”

Cooper sentenced him to three years in prison.
