In the last Late Model special event held at RTR on May 7, Richmond, IN., driver Steve Casebolt Jr. took the win over multi-time RTR feature winner Eddie Carrier Jr. A total of 34 Late Models were in attendance when this event was postponed last October.

The AMRA Modified portion of the “GCP Engines Showdown” will feature the largest race of the season for that division. The AMRA Modified division has had the largest car count each race this season with an average field of 26 cars per race.

Perhaps the most competitive field of AMRA Modifieds in RTR history is expected to do battle for the $2,000 prize. A total of 35 AMRA Modifieds were in attendance before the event’s postponement in 2009.

With $1,000 on the line, the “GCP Engines Showdown” is also the largest race of the season for the Bomber division.

Previous $1,000 special event winners Danny Hamilton and Wayne Hughes along with 2010 feature winners Bruce Gray Jr. and Jamie Adams will be favorites heading into this race.

The Mod Lite portion of the “GCP Engines Showdown” will feature a $500 to win show. Pennsylvania drivers Mikey Hay and Alan Knepper won the two previous Mod Lite specials held at RTR.

Many drivers will be using this race as a warm-up for the $1,000 to win “Ohio Mod Lite Nationals” on July 23.

General admission is $18 with kids (ages 7-12) general admission $5, kids six and under free, and pit passes $30.

Gates open at 4 p.m. with drivers meeting at 7 p.m. and Hot Laps at 7:15. For more information visit www.rockytopraceway.net
