CHESAPEAKE — An early morning accident claimed the life of a driver.

A female driver was pronounced dead at the scene of the fatal crash on County Road 559 or Big Branch Road, according to Lt. Michael Gore, of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The one-vehicle accident occurred at 4:36 a.m. Monday.

Alcohol is suspected, Gore said. Further details on the crash and the name of the driver were not released at press time, pending notification of next of kin.

Investigating the accident was Highway Patrol trooper, Chad Canter.
