Carol Ruth Spears, 62 of Ironton, passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, at the cabin at Lawco Lake in Pedro.
The Ironton native was born Sept. 6, 1947, the daughter of the late Frank and Opal Robinson Herrell.
Mrs. Spears was a 1965 graduate of Symmes Valley High School and was a legal secretary for Collier and Collier Law Offices for 20 years. Mrs. Spears was also a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Ann Coburn; and a brother, George Herrell.
She is survived by two daughters, Trena Henderson and her companion Eric “O.P.” Collins of Ironton and Teresa Conley and her husband Chuck of Ironton; a son, Todd Spears of Clovis, N.M.; three brothers, Ken Herrell of Barboursville, W.Va., Glenn Herrell of South Point and Pastor Chuck Herrell of Chilhowie, Va.; three sisters, Sandra Foster of Chesapeake, Bonnie Leszkowicz of Finley and Becky Cremeens of Kitts Hill; a companion, J.B. Collier Jr. of Ironton; and five grandchildren: Keeshia Radcliff of Ironton, Colin, Caitlyn and William Conley, all of Ironton, and Wesley Cordle of Ironton.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home with Pastor Chuck Herrell officiating. Friends may call 5 p.m. today until the time of service at the funeral home.
