PEDRO — Emory Arbaugh Jr. 79, of Pedro, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky., after an extended illness of six years.
The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 24, 1930, the son of the late Emory Sr. and Myrtle Hughes Arbaugh.
Mr. Arbaugh graduated from Waterloo High School and spent two years in the Korean War. He was employed at Symmes Valley High School as a custodian. He retired after 29 years from Allied Signal in Coal Grove. He was a member of the American Legion Post 806 and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by three sisters, Emogene Saunders, Katherine Arbaugh and Fern Clark.
Emory is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Erma; his son, Dwayne Arbaugh of Pedro; his daughter, Teresa Huddle of Ironton; a grandson raised in his home, David Huddle; four grandchildren, Julie Anna, Evan, Kaitlin and Kelsey Huddle; one great-grandchild, Dakota Huddle; one sister, Ruth Pinkerman of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, with the Rev. John Paul Patterson and the Rev. Eddie Neal officiating.
