PEDRO — Floyd “Toad” McFann, 79, of Pedro, died Monday, July 12, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Pedro native was born Sept. 15, 1930, the son of the late James and Ada Russell McFann. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mae Clay McFann, who passed away Nov. 27, 2000.
Mr. McFann attended Decatur Schools, retired from Amcast in 1983 and was of the Baptist faith. He was born and raised and spent all his life in Lawrence County.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Edgar, Ray, Arthur, Albert and Elroy; two sisters: Ruby Hart, and Bonnie McFann; a granddaughter, Jennifer Rose McFann; and a stepson, Roger Lee Henderson.
He is survived by six sons, Floyd “Sonny” McFann Jr and his wife Cheri of Wheelersburg, Randy McFann of Pedro, Michael McFann of Ironton, Eddie McFann and his wife Lavon of Ironton, James McFann and his wife Doris of South Webster and Charles David McFann and his wife Rhonda of Coolville; two daughters, Sheila McFann Large of Wheelersburg and Sherri Michael and her husband Ed of Leesburg; two stepchildren, Ronald Henderson of Niles and Jo Ann Cox of Rogers; 24 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and brothers,  Woodrow McFann of Charleston, W. Va. and Oscar McFann of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home with Brother Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery.
