Overall senior showman was Scott Dial.

The 17-year-old from Scottown had raised his goat “Bud” on his family’s farm since its birth in January.

This is Scott’s second first-place showman award for goats. This was his third year competing.

“It’s really exciting,” he said. “I was hoping to do good. The hard work finally paid off.”

Scott will be back on Saturday, with his sights set on another victory. “I’m hoping to win Showman of Showmen,” he said

Carrie Brock, 14, of Chesapeake won the overall Junior Showman with her goat.

She said she has been participating in 4-H for the past six years.

This was her first time showing goats.

“I was really surprised and happy,” Carrie said.

Carrie said she started doing 4-H because her mother raised goats as well.

Carrie is a member of the Get Away Go-Getters 4-H club. She will also be competing on Saturday at the Showman of Showmen competition.
