Walter F. Williams, 82 of Ironton, died Wednesday July 21, 2010, at a local health care facility. The Ironton native was born Sept. 10, 1927, the son of the late Frank Lee Williams and Lucy Pratt Williams.
Walter attended Ironton City Schools and was a member of the Tristone Baptist Church in Ironton. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the American Legion Post 590. He retired from CSX Railroad after 46 years of service.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Giles Williams; daughter, Annette Hubert; sisters, Ida Young, Sarah Ann Troxler, Rosemary Cuffie and Eleanor Smith; and brothers, Lawrence McArthur Williams and Donnie Williams.
He is survived by sisters, Rachel Murphy and Wilma Taylor, both of Ironton; brothers, Danny Williams of New York, Robert and Mary Williams of Ironton and Wilbert Williams of Houston, Texas; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
