Joyce Marie Kerns, 63, of Ironton, died Sunday, July 25, 2010, at her home. The Chattanooga, Tenn., native was born Nov. 4, 1946, the daughter of the late John David Johnson and Helen Cook Johnson McKinney. Joyce is survived by her husband, Emory, whom she married April 17, 1971.
Joyce attended Ashland schools and was a homemaker. She also attended the Faith United Church of the Nazarene in Ironton.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by stepparents, Nancy Johnson and Howard McKinney.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Saprinta and Paul Patrick of Ironton and Tammy and Mike Noble of Coal Grove; son, Joshua J. Kerns of Ironton; stepdaughter, Tina Marie Dodson of Hanging Rock; six sisters, Sue and Hassell Greene, Diane and Larry Dechant and Sherry and Bob Callahan, all of Westwood, Ky., Gail McHale of Georgia, Debbie Carter of Hollywood, Fla., and Carol Parker of Alabama; three brothers, Ricky and Mary Johnson of Flatwoods, Ky., Johnny Johnson of Westwood and Ricky McKinney of Montgomery, Ala.; and three grandchildren.
