It seems very fitting that the inaugural edition of The Tribune’s “Good News, Good Neighbors” feature will commend the efforts of a group called The Goodwill Club.

Starting today The Tribune will feature something positive from the community in this space on the opinion page every Tuesday.

Dubbed “Good News, Good Neighbors,” this editorial will pause for a moment to applaud some of the individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty when it comes to making a difference in our communities.

We couldn’t ask for a better example than Margie Collins Brenda Bruce and Paula Anderson. This trio of Sherman Thompson Towers residents have come together with others to create a grassroots organization focused on friendship and fellowship for the senior citizens.

These women embody all that is great about southern Ohio and the Tri-State. They have taken it upon themselves to get involved, get others active and work together to create a common bond among friends and neighbors.

Efforts like these are what we will showcase every Tuesday. These editorials will showcase a story or person we have already reported on objectively but where the impact merits congratulations and a job well done.

Our region has so much to offer but perhaps nothing is more special than all the people who call it home.

These three women are great examples of that and are certainly good neighbors to their fellows at Sherman Thompson Towers and all of Lawrence County.
