PEDRO — Too much Blake Yates.

Quarterback Blake Yates had 212 total yards to lead the Lucasville Valley Indians past the Rock Hill Redmen 41-6 Friday in a non-league game.

Yates ran 10 times for 57 yards and a touchdown and completed 11-of-19 passes for 155 yards and three scores as the Indians improved to 2-0.

For the second straight week, Rock Hill (0-2) took a lead to start the game and it was again quarterback Will McCollister running for the score. McCollister scooted 32 yards with 9:02 on the clock and the Redmen led 6-0.

Valley came back to take a 7-6 lead on a 3-yard run by David Shultz and Yates’ conversion kick with just 10 seconds left in the quarter.

After a Rock Hill fumble at the 29, Yates threw 9 yards to Alex Hartley to push the lead to 14-6 with 5:44 left in the half. The Indians got the ball right back on an interception and Yates bolted 63 yards for a touchdown and it was 21-6 with 3:14 left in the half.

Yates threw touchdown passes covering 45 yards to Luke Keller and 10 yards to Alex Holcomb in the third quarter to extend the lead to 35-6.
