BEVERLY — Good teams make you pay for your mistakes. The Green Bobcats went bankrupt Friday night.

The Fort Frye Cadets turned three fumbles and two interceptions into touchdowns as they beat Green 47-8 in a non-league game.

The Cadets used an interception to set up a short 34-yard scoring drive with Spencer Lang going 18 yards for the first touchdown and a 7-0 lead.

Fort Frye went up 14-0 in the second quarter on a 7-yard run by Colten Skinner and then drove 90 yards to score on a 2-yard run by Skinner.

The Cadets (2-0) scored 20 points in the third quarter to build a 41-0 lead.

Shonn Smith caught a 17-yard pass from Edie Watson to cap a 70-yard drive, and then the Cadets recovered a Green fumble near midfield to set up an 18-yard scoring strike from Watson to Matt Klinger and it was 34-0.

A muffed snap on a punt attempt gave Fort Frye the ball at the 27 and Skinner scored on a 9-yard run to make it 41-0 with 2:16 left in the quarter.

A third Green fumble led to a 13-yard scoring run by Lang on the first play of the fourth quarter and it was 47-0.

Green (1-1) avoided the shutout on a 3-yard run by Tyler Hughes with 6:48 to play. Hughes threw to T.J. McCloud for the conversion.

The Bobcats were playing without starting quarterback Steve Blanton.
