LAVALETTE, WV — Sugarwood proved to be pretty sweet for Andy Holtzpafel.

The Fighting Tigers’ senior golfer fired a 1-under par 35 as he led Ironton to a duel golf match win over the South Point Pointers.

Holtzapfel’s medalist round helped Ironton to a 154-team score while South Point finished at 212.

Senior Mason Weisgarber also had a strong round with a 3-over 39 while Josh Cooke and Josh Mullins each carded a 40.

Jonathan Williams finished with a 41 and Josh Zornes had a 42.

Callie Taylor had a 45 to lead South Point.

Ironton, now 49-3, plays at Chesapeake in a 4 p.m. match Monday.
