SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) — Denard Robinson ran 2 yards for a touchdown with 27 seconds left, sending Michigan to a 28-24 victory over Notre Dame.

Robinson also had an 87-yard TD run and finished with 502 total yards offense, easily eclipsing the Michigan quarterback record he set against UConn (383) a week earlier. He carried 28 times for 258 yards and two touchdowns and passed for another 244 with a TD.

Notre Dame’s Dayne Crist, who missed most of the first half after being banged up on an opening TD drive, hit Kyle Rudolph with a 95-yard TD pass to put the Irish ahead with 3:41 left.

But Robinson then led Michigan (2-0) on a 12-play, 72-yard drive, scoring the game-winner himself.

Notre Dame (1-1) had one last chance from the Wolverines’ 27 with six seconds left, but Crist threw the ball out of the end zone on the final play.
