Kerns plays well in Herd tournament

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Nathan Kerns had to get in on the act.
A total of seven team or individual tournament records were broken at the three-day Marshall Invitational golf tournament as the Ohio State Buckeyes came away with the team win over Xavier.
Meanwhile, Marshall Thundering Herd sophomore Nathan Kerns fired a 68 in both the first and third rounds that were career-best.
Kerns finished with a 210 score and finished tied for 19th place individually with Billy Peel Jr. of Eastern Kentucky. Kerns had the best overall score for Marshall that had an 853 team score, good for eighth place along with Austin Peay, Toledo and Austin Peay.
Kerns is a former All-Ohio golfer for the Ironton Fighting Tigers.
