When the St. Joseph Flyers hosted the South Point Pointers Tuesday, their whole team drew a blank.
A blank as in no goals allowed.
The Flyers’ defense turned in a stellar performance as they blanked the Pointers 7-0.
“Our defense of Aaron Haas, T.J. Young, Ike Palmer, Cody Blackburn and keeper Justin Mahlmeister played an exceptional game to realize the shutout,” said Flyers’ coach Dan Blair.
While the defense was doing its job, the offense was taking care of business as Payton Blair and Levi Hopkins racked up two goals while Tanner Riley, Eli Lewis and Shannon Litton had one goal each.
Riley and Lewis each added an assist.
“We passed the ball well tonight and the entire team played well,” said coach Blair.
The Flyers visit Portsmouth Clay at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
