ODOT updates public on ongoing road work

The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or road closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 9.
All work will take place during daytime, business hours Monday through Friday only unless otherwise indicated.
A districtwide guardrail project is under way. Crews will be installing guardrails at various locations in Highland, Brown, Adams, Scioto, Jackson, Pike and Ross counties.
Traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of portable signals and flaggers. The scheduled completion date is Oct. 31.
A districtwide pavement marking project is under way at various locations throughout the district. Crews will be applying long line and edge line striping to selected routes in a rolling operation as weather permits.
Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained at all times, and the scheduled completion date is Oct. 31.
A resurfacing project is under way on State Route 7. Crews are paving the route between its junction with State Route 527 (Third Avenue) at Chesapeake to the western corporation limit of Proctorville and also from Township Road 1147 (Jewell Drive) to the Lawrence-Gallia County line.
Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers. The scheduled completion date is Oct. 31.
An erosion control (re-vegetation) project has begun along the State Route 7 corridor at Proctorville. Throughout construction, there should be little impact to motorists, and all traffic will be maintained with flaggers as needed.
State Route 775 is closed for a bridge replacement project at the route’s 17.26-mile marker.
Crews are replacing a structure that is located just north of Township Road 177 (Rappsburg-Buckeye Creek Road) and between State Route 141 and County Road 2 (Greasy Ridge Road).
The route will be closed for up to 60 days, and while it is closed motorists will be detoured via State Route 790 to State Route 218 in Gallia County to State Route 217 and State Route 775. The scheduled completion date is Oct. 29.
Contractors will return to U.S. 52 to complete minor finishing work following a four-lane resurfacing project between the exits for State Route 650 at Hanging Rock and State Route 243 at Coal Grove.
Traffic impacts should be minimal; however, traffic will be maintained in at least one lane in each direction as needed when crews are at work.
A four-lane resurfacing project has begun on U.S. 52. Crews will be paving the route from the Scioto County line to just east of County Road 23 (Ohio Furnace Road), and throughout construction, traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction.
The scheduled completion date is Oct. 31.
