Portsmouth West blanks Rock Hill

WEST PORTSMOUTH — For the Portsmouth West Senators, this game was quite a rush.

The Senators rushed 54 times for 515 yards as they blanked the Rock Hill Redmen 62-0 Friday.

Trevon Pendleton ran 14 times for 168 yards and three touchdowns to lead the unbeaten Senators (4-0). Kyle Locher added 98 yards on five attempts while quarterback Levi Ratliff ran for 59 yards and threw for 46 including a 15-yard scoring strike to Adam Bricker.

Rock Hill (0-4) struggled to move the ball against the West defense. The Redmen had just 72 yards rushing and quarterback Will McCollister was 7-of-20 for 73 yards and two interceptions. Jesse Lane had three catches for 34 yards and Trey Wilds caught two for 26.

West built a 32-0 halftime lead as Pendleton ran 16 and 48 yards for scores. Tanner Journey added a 1-yard run and Ratliff ran 8 yards for a touchdown to go with his scoring pass.

The Redmen finish a four-game stretch against SOC team with a trip to Wheelersburg next Friday.
