Art in the Park set for Saturday

ASHLAND, Ky. — The Kentucky Creative Arts Club will host the Art in the Park exhibit this Saturday at Central Park in Ashland, Ky. In case of rain, the alternate location is Highlands Museum and Discovery Center, also in Ashland.

For those interested in displaying and entering their art, registration is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and the entry fee is $15 for eight pieces. Additional pieces may be entered for $5 each.

The divisions are professional, non-professional, 3-D and photography. Judging begins at noon.

The artists featured in the exhibit must be 18 or older, and all work must be the original work of the artist. Work must be suitable for family viewing.

Kits, prints, copies and previous Art in the Park winning pieces will not be judged.

All 2-D art must be framed, except for gallery-wrapped canvases, and ready to hang. Artists must also provide supports or easels for their art.

Artists are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and spend the day networking with other artists and showcasing their art to the public.

Private sales are encouraged, but exhibitors must have a vendors license available from the City of Ashland.

Cash awards, door prizes, purchase awards and ribbons will be given out at the exhibit.
