Jonathan Alder 38, Ironton 14

IRONTON — Austin Dehart ran for 151 yards and three touchdowns as the Johnathan Alder Pioneers beat the Ironton Fighting Tigers 38-14 Friday.

Ironton (5-1) lost leading rusher and defensive back Tres Wilks in the first quarter when he was ejected after retaliating from a late hit by Alder.

The Pioneers (5-1) finished with 363 total yards as quarterback Graham Johnston was 6-of-9 for 140 yards and a score.

Ironton had 188 total yards with all but 10 coming on the ground. Fullback Brian Warner had 54 yards on eight carries and scored Ironton’s first touchdown on an 18-yard run.

The Fighting Tigers trailed 17-7 at the half and got within 24-14 on the first play of the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Tyler Hager.

Symmes Valley 34, Green 7

FRANKLIN FURANCE — After falling behind 7-0, Symmes Valley scored 34 unanswered points to remain unbeaten with a 34-7 win over the Green Bobcats Friday in the Southern Ohio Conference.

Evan Herrell ran six times for 111 yards and D.J. Miller had 105 yards on eight carries to lead the Vikings (6-0) who racked up 386 rushing yards and 442 total yards.

Jacob Patterson added 91 yards on six attempts and quarterback Cody Myers was 4-of-9 for 56 yards.

Green (3-3) had 133 yards rushing as Tyler Hughes ran 16 times for 55 yards. Cody Bruce added 22 yards on six carries including a 4-yard touchdown run midway through the first quarter.

Fairland 56, River Valley 13

BIDWELL — Fairland scored 20 points in the second quarter to take a 36-8 halftime lead en route to a 56-13 Ohio Valley Conference win Friday over the River Valley Raiders.

Fairland (2-4, 1-0) was led by Chad Fisher with 136 yards on 12 carries as the Dragons rolled up 355 yards rushing. Evan Maddox had 74 yards on 10 carries and Tanner Sowards added 59 yards on nine tries.

The Dragons racked up 459 total yards with quarterback Jon Baise was 6-of-8 for 60 yards. Fisher was 2-3 passing for 44 yards.

River Valley (1-5, 0-1) had just 148 total yards with 129 on the ground.

Chesapeake 28, Rock Hill 27

PEDRO — Chesapeake jumped out to a 21-0 lead over the first five minutes of the game, then held on for its first win of the season in a 28-27 Ohio Valley Conference win over the Rock Hill Redmen Friday night.

The loss left the Redmen 0-6 and 0-1 in the league.
