Curtis A. Fields

Curtis A. Fields, 94, of Ironton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Honaker, Va., native was born Aug. 6, 1916, the son of the late Edward and Catherine Garrett Fields. He is survived by his wife, Ann Vinson Garrett Fields.
Mr. Fields attended schools in Lawrence County and retired in 1976 from the C&O Railroad after 34 years of service. He attended United Methodist Church in Burlington. In In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Johnson Fields; six brothers; and five sisters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five stepdaughters and their spouses, Joyce Ann and Keith Caskey of Coal Grove, Donna Gail and Eddie Wright of Maryland, Linda Jean and Tom Harsel, Judy Marie and Gene Pharr, all of Charlotte, N.C. and Kelly Denise and Paul Shields of Kansas; a stepson and his wife, Claude C. and Tammy Patrick of Charlotte; 11 step grandchildren; seven step great grandchildren; and several special nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home with Rev. James Cremeans and Rev. Paul McNurlin officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery.
