Flyers’ seniors key to 4-0 win

Senior Night is about seniors. And on this night, the seniors lived up to their night.

The St. Joseph Flyers celebrated Senior Night with a 4-0 soccer win over the New Boston Tigers Tuesday.

“We played with intensity and purpose tonight,” said Flyers’ coach Dan Blair. “It was a very satisfying game to end the regular season home games.”

Senior Payton Blair scored two goals while senior Tanner Riley also scored a goal. Seniors T.J. Young and Levi Hopkins each chipped in with an assist. Sophomore Nick Roach scored the other Flyers’ goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Justin Mahlmeister turned in a shutout with the help from his teammates.

St. Joseph plays at Portsmouth West at 5 p.m. Thursday.
