SOUTH POINT — Joanna Lenora Mounts Legg, 80, of South Point, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010, at SOMC in Portsmouth. The Kitts Hill native was born Oct. 6, 1930, the daughter of the late Herman Mounts Sr. and Mable Irene Bunn Mounts Brown. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Robert Legg Sr.

Mrs. Legg was a graduate of South Point High School and the Lawrence County Vocational School of Nursing. After completing the nursing program, she worked as a nurse for Bryant’s Health Care Center in Ironton and nursing homes in Portsmouth and Plant City, Fla. She was a member of the Campbell Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by grandparents, Anna Laura Payne Bunn and Everett Bunn; brothers, Charles Mounts and Herman Mounts, Jr.; aunts, Celeste Bunn Hunter, Jessie Bunn Leach and Lucille Bunn Meyers; uncles, Clarence Leach, Charles Meyers, Jack Bunn and Bob Bunn; and cousin, J.C. Bunn.

She is survived by daughter, Sharon Sue Baker of Columbus; son, Charles R. Legg, Jr. of Kitts Hill; daughter, Patricia Ann Ramey of Portsmouth; son, Mark Allen Legg of Florida; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren ; two great great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence “Bud” and Naomi Mounts of Dallas; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Karen Mounts Childers of Plant City, Fla. and Linda and William McClellan of Columbus; sister-in-law, Nancy Mounts of Sioux City, Iowa; special cousin, Katrene Meyers McDowell of Flatwoods, Ky.; aunt, Gladys Bunn Richie of Bainbridge; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
