WEST PORTSMOUTH — Now this is what you call a team effort.
The St. Joseph Flyers had six different players score as they finished the regular season with a 7-1 rout of the Portsmouth West Senators Thursday.
“We played a well-balanced game,” said Flyers’ coach Dan Blair. “It was nice to see multiple players score.”
Joseph Payton went against the norm as he scored two goals while Payton Blair, Tanner Riley, Cody Blackburn, T.J. Young and Eli Lewis scored one goal apiece.
Payton added to his game as he added an assist.
St. Joseph hosts West at 5 p.m. Monday to start the sectional tournament.
Tickets are $5 for the game as set by the Ohio High School Athletic Association and no passes will be honored.
