PATRIOT — Leon Mannon, 80, of Patriot, passed away Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Huntington,W.Va. He was born in Lawrence County March 11, 1930, to the late Pearlie and Gusta Massie Mannon. He was a member of the Masonic Bodies Patriot Lodge, Gallia Baptist Church and a Korean War vetern. He was a welder with the 798 union and a farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Silvers Mannon; son, Kevin Mannon of Patriot; two grandsons, Whyatt and Austin; two brothers, Pearlie and Earl Mannon; and one sister, Eleanor Tagg of Dayton.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one brother, Frank.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Gallia Baptist Church with the Rev. Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow in Gallia Baptist Cemetery.
