Community Hospice offering holiday grief counseling classes

The Community Hospice Bereavement Department announces a special community-based grief counseling session. “Grief and the Holidays” is a grief support group for anyone who has suffered a loss and is facing the holidays without their loved one. It is open to the public, not just those who have been served by hospice.

Three sessions of “Grief and the Holidays” will be offered. They are scheduled for:

> Monday, November 8 Elliott County Senior Center 10 a.m. – 12 p.m., Main Street, Sandy Hook

>Tuesday, November 9 South Point Senior Center 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 97 Private Road 80, South Point

> Thursday, November 11 First Christian Church 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., US 23 & Church St., South Shore

> Monday, November 15 Franklin Furnace Baptist Church 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., 100 Seneak Ave., Franklin Furnace

> Thursday, November 18 Community Hospice Care Center 1 p.m. – 3 p.m., 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

> Tuesday, November 30 Grace United Methodist Church 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., 195 Caroline Road, Raceland

> Thursday, December 2 Friendship House 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., 174 Everman St., Grayson

> Thursday, December 9, Community Hospice 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., 2122 S. 9th Street, Ironton

“Grief and the Holidays” offers participants the opportunity to talk about their loss, understand the grieving process and the cycles of grief, spend time with others who have experienced similar situations, and receive guidance on coping during the upcoming holiday seasons.
