When Jim Woodrum comes to Ironton’s Tanks Memorial Stadium with his Coshocton Redskins Friday night, it won’t be his first trip to the area.

Woodrum — a longtime assistant in his first season as the head coach — is a native of Lawrence County.

Woodrum’s parents are Ronnie Woodrum and the late Jewel (Bamer) Woodrum, both graduates of Rock Hill High School.

Ronnie and Jim’s uncle Larry Woodrum are Ironton natives. The family moved to the Rock Hill district when Ronnie was in the eighth grade. Ronnie was the manager of Moore’s Auto and transferred to Coshocton when Jim was a pre-schooler.
