IRONTON — Gwendolyn “Gwen” Rowe, 79, of Ironton, died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Ky. The Ironton native was born Jan. 26, 1931, the daughter of the late Fred and Lillian Huff Bowles. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Carl R. Rowe.

Gwen attended St. Joseph Catholic High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Beech Street Christian Church in Ashland, Ky.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Fred Bowles, Timothy Bowles and Donnie Bowles.

In addition to her husband, Gwen is survived by a son: Michael D. Rowe of Kitts Hill; a daughter and son-in-law: Deborah and Vernon Cogan of Franklin Furnace; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 South Seventh Street, Ironton, Ohio with Minister Kenneth Vaughn and Minister Brent Baker officiating.
