COLUMBUS — A day after blitzing No. 9 Florida, No. 4 Ohio State won again.
Amir Williams, a 6-foot-10 center from Birmingham, Mich., rated among the top big men in the country, signed a letter of intent with the Buckeyes on Wednesday.
Williams averaged 15 points, 10.2 rebounds and 4.8 blocked shots per game last season for Detroit Country Day. He had narrowed his choices to Florida and Ohio State.
He joins LaQuinton Ross (6-8 from Jackson, Miss.), Shannon Scott (6-2 from Alpharetta, Ga.), Sam Thompson (6-6 from Chicago) and Trey McDonald (6-9 from Battle Creek, Mich.) in one of the top freshman classes in the nation for the 2011-12 season.
