Tigers vs. Flyers
benefit game
The St. Joseph Flyers at Ironton Fighting Tigers basketball scrimmage game will benefit the Lawrence County Relay for Life.
The game will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, at the Ironton Sports Center.
All proceeds will benefit the Lawrence County Relay for Life cancer program.
Ironton ending sale of
playoff tickets today
Ironton vs. Hartley Division IV playoff tickets will be on sale this week through Friday during business hours at Bob Linn Sporting Goods and at the auto shop office behind the high school during school hours.
Tickets will be $7 in advance and $9 at the gate. Ironton receives only a small percentage of the presale. All other money goes to the Ohio High School Athletic Association who sets ticket prices.
Girls’ OVC basketball
preview set Friday
The Ohio Valley Conference girls’ basketball preview will be held Friday at Chesapeake High School.
The boys’ preview will be Friday, Nov. 26, at Chesapeake.
Each team plays two quarters. The All-OVC fall sports team will be presented their awards between the second and third games.
Here is the girls’ schedule: 6:00 South Point vs. River Valley; 7:00 Fairland vs. Coal Grove; 8:00 Rock Hill vs. Chesapeake.
The boys’ schedule: 6:00 Rock Hill vs. River Valley; 7:00 South Point vs. Fairland; 8:00 Coal Grove vs. Chesapeake.
Admission is $5.
Extreme volleyball
open gym planned
The Southern Ohio Extreme volleyball club will conduct open gym at 2 p.m. on Sundays, Nov. 21 and Dec. 5, at Coal Grove High School. The club is open to girls ages 12-17.
