Ironton native named company president

DUNDEE, Mich. — Diamond Electric Manufacturing Corporation announced today that Scott J. Hogan, formerly of Ironton, has been promoted to President of the automotive supply company’s U.S. operations.
Diamond Electric (DEMCO) is a leading global supplier of ignition systems and components, and known throughout the automotive industry for its quality and technology. The firm’s parent company, Diamond Electric Manufacturing Company, Ltd., is headquartered in Osaka, Japan.
Hogan, 41, assumes the responsibilities most recently held by Tatsuo Ikenaga, who continues as Chief Executive Officer of Diamond Electric in the U.S. Mr. Ikenaga also is Vice President and a Managing Director of the company’s operation in Japan.
“Scott has been a great asset to Diamond Electric since he joined the company,” Mr. Ikenaga said in making the announcement. “He’s a proven leader and motivator, and I know he will do a great job leading DEMCO and continuing our success in the North American marketplace.”
Diamond Electric manufactures ignition coils in the U.S. for Ford Motor Company, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Chrysler Corporation and Subaru.
The company’s U.S. headquarters has been in Dundee, Mich., for nearly 20 years and the company’s largest worldwide manufacturing facility is located in Eleanor, W.Va.
Diamond Electric employs more than 200 people in the U.S.
Hogan joined Diamond Electric in 1996 as quality manager of its West Virginia plant. He attended Shawnee State University.
In June 1999, Mr. Hogan was promoted to director of quality assurance and later assumed the position of Michigan plant manager. He joined DEMCO’s executive team in 2002 when he was named Vice President of Sales and Design.
Hogan and his wife, Tina, live in Sylvania. They have a son, Mason, and a daughter, Haleigh.
