Kingsbrook employees recognized for exceptional care

ASHLAND, Ky. — The Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities (KAHCF) recently recognized three Kingsbrook Lifecare Center employees for providing exceptional care to their rehab patients and residents.

The following employees were acknowledged at the KAHCF Fall Conference in Louisville, Ky.:

• Janet Meadows, facility gardener, was honored for her contributions to the Kingsbrook garden. Through her maintenance and instruction, Kingsbrook short and long-term residents have the opportunity to rehab and receive care in a serene outdoor environment.

The garden has been described as “sowing the seeds of good health” by healthcare professionals and repeatedly recognized by local county fairs for its award-winning produce.

• By going above and beyond to ensure patient comfort, Crystal Fizer, registered nurse, was the recipient of the Immeasurable Care Award. Her unwavering dedication to the physical and emotional needs of Kingsbrook residents has made her an asset among patients and colleagues.

• Chaplin Dale Maddy, received recognition for his innovative program, “Soul Food.” The program caters to the spiritual needs of residents and patients during times of uncertainty. Dale is often credited for creating an inviting atmosphere within Kingsbrook by sharing his musical talents and seeing to the individual needs of residents.

“Our award recipients deserve to be recognized and applauded for their dedication to customer satisfaction,” said Keith Moore, Kingsbrook administrator. “These awards highlight the differences they make and serve to honor the valuable work that they do.”

“In addition to these impressive individual honors, recently we have been recognized as one of the best places to work as well as a best healthcare facility,” added Moore. “Proof positive of the outstanding team we have in place and our determination to be Ashland’s leading nursing and rehabilitation facility.”

Established in 1954, the Kentucky Association of Health Care Facilities is the trade association that represents proprietary and nonproprietary nursing facilities and personal care homes across the Commonwealth.

It is one of the state affiliates of the American Health Care Association. They provide a wide variety of services to member facilities including legislative and regulatory activities, professional development, statewide recognition programs, publications, media relations, research and advocacy relations.
