PEDRO — Shooting was no problem for the Rock Hill Redwomen.
It was the making part that was so elusive.
Rock Hill was a mere 8-of-56 from the field for 14.3 percent in a 43-21 loss to the Fairland Lady Dragons Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
“I don’t think we took a bad shot the whole game. I told the girls the shots are going to start falling but they didn’t,” said Rock Hill coach Alvin Carpenter.
“Defensively, we did a pretty good job. We just didn’t convert on the other end and then we got frustrated at time.”
Fairland (4-8, 2-1) was led by Chandler Fulks with 14 points while Haley Woodall added eight points.
Tommi Butler and Chelsea Harper had seven points each for Rock Hill (5-6, 1-2). Dani Crabtree had eight rebounds and Butler six.
Rock Hill failed to score in the first quarter as Fairland took a 7-0 lead. The Lady Dragons were up 16-6 at the half.
Fairland put the game away by outscoring Rock Hill 15-5 in the third quarter to make it 31-11.

South Point 68, Coal Grove 21
SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers have found another weapon.
Erin Dillow scored 18 points to lead South Point to a 68-21 win over the Coal Grove Lady Hornets Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Dillow had four 3-pointers in her total as the Lady Pointers improved to 8-2 and 3-0 in the OVC. She also had four assists.
Kayla Fletcher had 17 points and eight steals to spark the defense. Kimmie Bennett added 10 points and four assists while Allison Mitchell grabbed seven rebounds and Jalynn Bradburn pulled down six.
“Dillow’s shooting the ball really well. Everyone tries to take Kayla away and play zone defense and she’s getting her opportunity to take open shots,” said Lady Pointers’ coach Dave Adams.
Dillow scored 10 points in the first quarter as South Point ran off the first 20 points of the game and led 25-5 at the end of the stanza.
South Point built a 44-6 halftime lead and coasted in the second half.
