Ironton man arrested for breaking and entering

The Ironton Police Department has arrested a man who allegedly broke into a city car dealership Monday night, according to a press release from Chief Jim Carey.

The alleged incident happened at 9:40 p.m. Monday. Carey said the department responded to a call of a breaking and entering in progress at Clyse Motors, 904 S. Third St. A citizen reported the alleged crime. When the police arrived, the suspect fled, was pursued and was apprehended, Carey said.

Carey said nothing was taken from the dealership.

Jerry H. McKinley, 27, of 810 Chestnut St., Ironton, was arrested for breaking and entering and resisting arrest.

He remains at the Lawrence County Jail.
