PROCTORVILLE — In money, four quarters equals a dollar. In basketball, four good quarters can equal a win.

The Fairland Dragons didn’t play four good quarters, but they made the money plays when they needed to as they beat the Rock Hill Redmen 65-55 Friday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“We just need to put together four good quarters. We play well for a quarter and then we have a lull. We need to play consistent,” said Dragons’ coach Nathan Speed.

Chad Fisher proved to be a big money man for the Dragons with 18 points, seven assists and four steals.

Blaine Fuller had a season-high 12 points while Evan Salyer scored 11. Jon Baise finished with eight points, seven rebounds and two steals and Matt Campbell added nine points for Fairland (5-4, 2-1).

Rock Hill (4-5, 1-2) was led by Andy Knipp with 18 points and five rebounds while Devin Darby scored 10 points and pulled down six rebounds. Mitchell Patterson added nine points, seven rebounds and three assists.

“We had our chances. If we make a shot here or there or don’t turn the ball over here or there, it might have been different,” said Rock Hill coach Bob Wilds whose team was guilty of 22 turnovers.

Rock Hill led 16-14 at the end of the first quarter but Fuller scored 10 of his points in the second quarter as Fairland rallied to take a 31-29 hafltime lead.

Knipp scored seven of Rock Hill’s 13 points in the second quarter.

Fairland went up 50-43 at the end of the third quarter only to have Rock Hill cut the deficit to just four points in the fourth quarter.

But Baise converted on 5 of 6 free throw attempts to prevent the comeback.
