Patterson, Miller help spark Vikings to win

LATHAM — Maybe the cavalry is on the way.
The Symmes Valley Vikings got an offensive boost from D.J. Miller and Jacob Patterson in a 76-35 Southern Ohio Conference win over the Western Indians Tuesday.
Miller scored 16 points and Patterson had 13 as the Vikings improved to 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the SOC. “We got more people involved and we hope that will carry over the rest of the way,” said Vikings’ coach Jerome Fuller.
“We got big games from Patterson and Miller. They’re both capable of giving us some key points.”
Luke Taylor had 15 points, 12 rebounds and five steals for the Vikings. Patterson also had eight rebounds.
Miller and Taylor scored six points each in the first quarter as Symmes Valley went ahead 24-11.
The lead was 36-19 at the break and the Vikings blew the game open by outscoring the Indians 24-11 in the third quarter to go up 60-30.
