MANCHESTER — The South Point Pointers were just too generous.
The Pointers lack of height proved to be their downfall again as the Manchester Greyhounds outscored South Point 81-73 Tuesday.
Manchester’s 6-foot-7 Blake Blevins scored a game-high 25 points as the Greyhounds improved to 11-1.
“Offensively we played good enough to win. Defensively, it wasn’t good. They just got numerous second and third shots which we knew what would happen,” said Pointers’ coach Chris Barnes. “
South Point (4-7) had five players in double figures led by Brandon Barnes with 20 points including 13 in the third quarter.
Blake Barnes had 13 points, seven rebounds and eight assists, Kyle Winkler had 13 points and eight rebounds, Tevin Mitchell scored 13, and Austin Jeffreys got 12 points and eight rebounds.
South Point was up 19-18 at the end of the first quarter and led 35-31 at the half.
But a technical foul in the second half turned the momentum as Manchester turned a six-point deficit into a 10-point lead.
