SOUTH POINT — Carl Clifton Brubaker, 63, of South Point, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2011, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Ironton native was born March 9, 1947, the son of the late Arrold C. Brubaker and Mary E. Shope Brubaker Ferstle. Mr. Brubaker was a graduate of Flat Rock High School in Michigan and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was an Engineer for the DT&I Railroad and of the Pentecostal faith. He was a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagles in Ironton and loved being “Mr. Fixit.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Brubaker, and a brother-in-law, Albert Richardson.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Elizabeth and Mike Brown of Mt. Airy, Maryland and Tammy and Jeff Miller of Ironton; a son, Christopher Brubaker of South Point; two sisters and a son-in-law: Jane Richardson of Flat Rock, Mich., and Kay and Gary Vadasy of Texas; a grandson, Dakota Brubaker of Ironton; two granddaughters: Kylee Brubaker of South Point and Sophia Brown of Mt. Airy, Md.; and his fiancee’: Kathy Gannon of South Point.
Funeral service will be noon Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor Brad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery Veterans Section with military graveside rites. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
