McMaster — out the previous game with an eye infection — returned Friday to score 24 points as the Chesapeake Panthers routed the Coal Grove Hornets 84-31 in an Ohio Valley Conference game.

“It was a physical game. It always is a tough game against Coal Grove regardless of the score,” said Panthers’ coach Ryan Davis.

Eric Kennedy scored 17 points, Patrick Hintz 16 and Colin Kennedy added 10 for the Panthers (12-1, 5-0) who had nine different players score.

Devin Monnier led Coal Grove (2-13, -5) with 10 points.

McMaster had nine points in the first quarter as Chesapeake bolted to a 14-2 lead.

Nathan Copley scored all seven of his points in the second quarter and Hintz and McMaster combined for 13 more as the Panthers built a 37-12 halftime cushion.

Colin Kennedy had eight points and McMaster seven in the third quarter and the lead was 61-23.
