Doy Wesley Dahmer

SOUTH POINT — Doy Wesley Dahmer, 85, of South Point, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, in St. Mary’s Medical Center. Graveside services will be held 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Highland Memorial Gardens with Minister Earl Slack officiating. Entombment will follow. Doy was born April 14, 1925, in Clintonville, W.Va., a son of the late Mason and Eva Mae Meadows Dahmer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Clarence, Roy, and Alvin Dahmer.

He was retired as a supervisor from Owens-Illinois after 31 years and was a WWII Army veteran having served in Germany. Doy is survived by his wife, Maria Kay King Dahmer; two children and their spouses, Patricia and Danny Richard Bowen, and Paul and Loretta Dahmer; four grandchildren, Angela Maynard, Jennifer Neal, and Jeffrey and Jonathan Bowen; five great grandchildren; six sisters, Rozella Weeks, Thelma Kennison, Martha Wilkins, Jessie Penninger, Frances Hypes, and Mary Jo Meadows; one brother, Dorsey Ray Dahmer; a special niece, Chyanne Weeks Rock; and an additional host of loving nieces and nephews.
