According to Lawless, Thomas Hacker was arrested at the District Nine Highway Patrol Post in Jackson. Lawless said they were not able to find Cindy Hacker at that time, but she turned herself in right before the 3 p.m. indictment.

Thomas Hacker is being charged with 33 counts of complicity to deception to obtain a dangerous drug and one count of complicity to engaging in a pattern of corrupt behavior.

Cindy Hacker wascharged with 84 counts of deception to obtain a dangerous drug, one count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity and one count of tampering with evidence.

Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Bond was set for Thomas Hacker at $50,000 and $100,000 for Cindy Hacker. Attorney William Eachus unsuccessfully argued that the couple would not be a flight risk because of their five children, who range in age from 2 to 16 years old.

A pre-trial hearing is scheduled for March 2.
