PROCTORVILLE — Eileen Murdock Cobb, of Proctorville was born on Nov. 28, 1924, at Greasy Ridge, Chesapeake. She passed peacefully from this life at the age of 86 on Feb. 15, 2011.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Iva Harmon Murdock, and an infant son.  She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Oliver K. “Ollie” Cobb; a daughter, Linda Tackett; husband John; and a son Daniel Cobb, wife Cheri; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers; one sister; and a host of other family and friends.

She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Proctorville where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir for many years.  She loved attending church services and activities and missed it greatly when her health prevented her from attending.  She was a member of the Proctorville Woman’s Club and Teresa Chapter #257 OES.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Hall Funeral Home by Pastors Jeff Black, Mike Smith and Dwayne Smith.  Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va.  Visitation will be held 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Eastern Star services will be conducted during the visitation at 7:30 p.m.  Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.timeformemory.com/hall.
