Tonight at 6:30 p.m., Ohio University Southern will host speaker, Charles Holt, in the Mains Rotunda, as a part of the university’s diversity lecture series,

Holt will give his discussion on Finding Your Voice: The Keys to Your Greatest Potential.

Holt’s grandmother was a key influence in his life. She began teaching him hymns and how to sing his ABC’s when he was 3 years old.

Later it was the genius of artist and musicians such as Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder, Carl Anderson, Marvin Gaye, Shirley Horn, and Daryl Coley that would continue to enlighten the path in him finding his own unique vocal expression.

However, it wasn’t until Holt experienced a disappointing turn in his career as a football player, and a swift exit out of corporate America, that he was reintroduced to his love for music. This was the genesis of discovering his truest passion and gift.

Finding Your Voice is among the most popular titles in a collection of discussions and talks. It is a vehicle anchored in high vibrating themes and principles – excellence, integration, community, integrity, equanimity, dedication and service – all with the intention to encourage, enlighten, and empower.

The event is free and open to the public.
