Are you ready for some … baseball?

I’m fishing for fantasy baseball fans.

In our community, Cincinnati Reds fans appear everywhere each spring. But the people I want to talk to are the ones who truly follow baseball, not just Reds fans.

I seek to bond with the ones who would be willing to spend their anniversary evening, or the day of their daughter’s wedding, drafting a team.

I’m looking for those special souls who read box scores with the precise eye of a diamond cutter, even at the expense of being fired for loafing on the job.

My aim is to reach those certifiable geeks who love baseball at least as much as their spouses or children and are willing to put their lives aside each summer to live and die with each day’s box scores.

I seek people who would slip out of their dying mother’s hospital room to watch the current version of Baseball Tonight.

Basically, I’m looking for 11 more people just like me. Mom, you know I love you, right?

My goal is to create an ongoing (keeper) fantasy baseball league with participants in or around Ironton who know the game and are passionately competitive.

I want to receive phone calls in the middle of the night from a desperate soul who wants me to trade him an ace starting pitcher. I want to get emails from otherwise astute businessmen begging me to swap Albert Pujols for Billy Butler and some change.

And I want this delicious insanity to form a bond and friendly rivalry that lasts from year to year in a keeper league. We can iron out the details of our league in our first owner’s meeting.

Surely, there are 11 more people in the Tri-State area who share my obsession for not only baseball, but the meticulous study necessary to become a fantasy baseball champion.

My line is in the water. The bobber is rolling with the ripples. Bite on the bait if baseball is your passion and email me at the address listed below to begin the interview process.

If you’re a keeper, I’m ready to reel you in.
