Coal Grove falls in sectional tournament

JACKSON — The Oak Hill Oaks took command early and went on to beat the Coal Grove Hornets 68-38 Tuesday in the Division III sectional tournament.

The Oaks took a 16-6 first quarter lead and pulled away to a 32-13 halftime cushion.

They outscored the Hornets 20-12 in the third quarter to make it 52-25. Oak Hill put up 16 more points in the fourth quarter to 13 for the Hornets.

Josh Kisor had 14 points and Garrin Stiltner 13 to lead the Oaks.

Senior Devin Monnier had 17 points in his final game to lead the Hornets (2-19).

Oak Hill (15-6) will play Ironton at 8 p.m. Saturday in the sectional finals.
